Wow! Miles will be 4 months old tomorrow! We woke up early this morning and made Daddy breakfast before he left for work. Then Miles took a little nap before his 10:30 am appointment with Dr. Page for his 4 month well baby check-up. I knew today was going to be a big day because he was going to get shots. I hate seeing Miles cry so I wasn't looking forward to the appointment but I was curious to see how much he has grown since his visit last month on January 6th when he was three months old. Miles and I have the routine down at the Pediatrician's office as we have been there about a dozen times already because of his jaundice and eczema. Most of the nurses there know him pretty well already. Of course right off the bat we put him on the baby scale to get his weight...drumroll please......he weighs 15 lbs 2 oz!!!!! No wonder my back has been killing me! He is so big. At his last check up in January he was 14 lbs. so he is gaining weight like he should be and he is in the 50-75th percentile for his weight. Next up was measurements. First the nurse measured his head which was 42.3cm which is up 2.3cm from his last head circumfrence measurement at 2 months old. He is in the 50th percentlile for his headcircumference so his head is the perfect shape :) The the nurse measured his length and has grown 5 1/2 inches since he was born at 20 inches. His height was 25 1/2 inches which puts him in the 75th percentile. I can't believe how long he is! After my very long list of questions I had for Dr. Page it was time for the worst part, Miles' shots. Last month he didn't even cry so I was hoping for the same response, but no luck. Miles was pretty upset and I don't blame him. Nobody likes shots! After the appointment he took a pretty long nap in the afternoon and Cecilia came over in the evening for a visit. It was fun to catch up with her since our last visit was in November. She loved seeing Miles of course and he had fun talking to her! It was a very long day for Miles so he went to bed early again around 8pm. Yeah! Daddy and I are really trying to get him on a sleeping schedule and so far for the past few days it has been going pretty well.
