Johnson Family: May 2010

Back to the doctor we go. On my first Mother's Day we spent the afternoon at urgent care because Miles got another staph infection, this time on his ear. The doctor had to drain his ear which was very painful for little Miles and he was prescribed anti-biotics. We were supposed to go out to brunch as a family but taking care of Miles was the priority for the day. We went to see Grandma Tartakoff for a few hours and then over to Grandma Johnson's house for Mother's Day dinner. The next day Miles went to see his pediatrician and was prescibed even more antibiotics and we were sent to the lab to get blood tests done. Miles is now weighing 17.5 lbs! We got the blood tests results back and his blood cound was excellent but his antibodie levels were a little high, so the pediatrician said this could lead to him having allergies in the future. Oh joy! The following day on Tuesday, Miles saw an ENT doctor just to be confident that the infection was not too serious. All went well at the doctor and Miles is on his way to recovery. Hopefully this will be the last of staph infections, I am not sure I can see Miles go through this again!
